Movember

You may have noticed the Secretary sporting a dashing Trucker Mo. This is in response to the Movember fundraising appeal. For the month of November, men grow a mo to raise awareness of Men's Health issues and to raise money towards organisations that deal in Men's Health issues. These include prostate cancer, mental health and general health issues.

The Secretary is in good company. Other noteable Mo blokes this year include Jeff Kennett, Lehmo, Andrew G, Ben Dark, Mick Fanning and Sam MacKinnon.

So, jump onboard and throw a few dollars this way for Men's Health. Check out more on Movember here.

Bar volunteers required for FTG Night Pennant

As you would know, Ferntree Gully BC uses our front green for their Night Pennant home games. During these evenings we man the bar to provide refreshments for sale to both the home and away teams.

A Responsible Service of Alcohol qualification is NOT mandatory, although it would be good.

If you can serve behind the bar from 7.00pm until 9.00pm on any of the following evenings please contact the Secretary ASAP.

Round 6 results, Round 7 selections

Round 6 results are posted here. Great club result with 2 wins and a bye last weekend. This weekend will present further challenges with the top side away to Berwick and the second side playing ladder leaders Donvale at Home. C'mon the Tigers!

Selections for Round 7, Saturday 17th November 2007, can be found here. Due to the unavailability of some players there are some changes so please besure to check where you're playing and who with.

Selections for the Night Pennant for next Tuesday will be posted on the next day or so.

***We need volunteers to man the bar for Ferntree Gully Night Pennant home games. As you will be aware, Ferntree Gully use our green for their Night Pennant home games. The bar is required to be manned for at least a couple of hours each night. Please email me if you can help out.***

Design options for new shirt and logo

Three designs for both the new logo and shirt are available for viewing here.

These designs are samples only and the final make-up of the colour scheme and graphics will be made once all votes and suggestions are received.

The committee would like your selection for both the logo and shirt as well as any suggestions you may have on the designs of your choice. Your vote and suggestions may be made via email or on the lists on the club noticeboard.

The final decision will be made by tallying the votes we get and the logo and shirt with the most votes will be declared the winner.

Voting closes at at 5pm, Thursday 22nd November 2007. The final votes will be tallied and the results announced at the club dinner at Burrinja Cafe later that evening.

RVBA Metropolitan Pennant - Round 6, Saturday 10th November

The teams for Round 6 of the RVBA Metropolitan Pennant are now available here. Also, the team for the first round of Night Pennant (Tuesday 13th November) is available here.

Practice is on Thursday evening from 5.30pm. Be sure to practice with your rink members for this weekend if you are all in attendance. If for any reason you cannot play on Saturday, please contact the Match Committee PRIOR TO Saturday.

- The top side lost to Cranbourne with 2 winning rinks and 1 drawn rink
- The second side beat Riversdale Golf, winning 1 rink and drawing 1 rink
- The third side went down to Bayswater

Let's knuckle down and regroup this weekend.
