Special General Meeting - Thursday 14th June

A Special General Meeting was called for by 5 committee members at last nights committee meeting. The meeting has been set for 7pm on Thursday 14th June 2007.

This meeting will deal with the following items:

Motion 1: That the club colours be changed from Blue and Gold to Black and Gold.
Rationale: With the changing of the club logo to the Tiger, black and gold are synonomous with the Tiger in sporting teams, especially within the Upwey-Tecoma district. This would assist in creating the new identity of the club.

Motion 2: That the membership category of 'Bowler belonging to another Club' be adopted into the constitution.
Rationale: Rates for this membership class were adopted at the AGM however, this class of membership does not exist within the current constitution.

A notice of meeting will be placed at the club shortly along with these motions. Your attendance at this meeting is important to ensure these motions are well discussed and debated before a decision is made.

Monday Night Bowls Competition - 14 May

Last night saw 20 bowlers take to the greens on a positively balmy Upwey evening. Many were on the green all night in t-shirts and all had a great time.

5 rinks played in the pairs format 2-4-2 with Rod "Rocket" Heron and Greg Nicholls taking the money with a 20 shot margin.

A bonus of this competition is the new faces that are appearing each week and the welcome they all receive. If you've got a few spare Monday nights during the off-season, don't hesitate to come along.

From 7pm a light supper is served, entries are taken and the teams are drawn for a 15 end match. Depending on numbers you'll find yourself playing pairs or triples. Come along and have a great night. And remember you can buy tickets to the Christmas in July function from the Secretary or call the club and leave a message. I'll get back to you shortly!

AGM Results

The AGM held from 7pm on Friday 11th May, was the best attended AGM in many years. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come.

As well as the annual report and accounts being accepted, the 3 items of business raised at the meeting were discussed and decided on.

Motion 1 (regarding commitment to Pennant) was voted down.

Motion 2 (adopting the Tiger as the club logo) was voted up by an overwhelming majority.

Motion 3 (to introduce coloured shirts) was also voted up by an overwhleming majority.

Ballot Closed - Match Committee Determined

Thank you to the 49 people that returned their ballot forms to nominate the Match Committee for the coming season. That's a return of approximately 80%.

Votes were counted last night and the successful nominees will be announced at the AGM this Friday night along with the General and RVBA Committee office bearers for the coming season.
